Murder of ex-vice mayor of Kamianske Plakhotnik: suspect detained in Lviv region. PHOTOS
A man in Dnipropetrovsk region was served a notice of suspicion in the murder of former deputy mayor of Kamianske Oleksandr Plakhotnik.
This was reported by the Communications Department of the National Police, Censor.NET informs.
"As a result of search operations, the suspect was found in Lviv region. He was a 54-year-old resident of Kamianske who knew the victim. To hide the traces of the crime, the suspect burned the car he was using and fled to another region. During searches at the suspect's place of residence, law enforcement officers seized weapons, ammunition, electronic media, mobile phones, camouflage clothing, an F-1 grenade and a fuse," the statement said.
The suspect was detained on 29 March 2025.
On 1 April, investigators of the Investigative Department of the Main Department of the National Police in Dnipropetrovsk Region served the detainee a notice of suspicion of committing a criminal offence under paragraph 6 of Part 2 of Article 115 (premeditated murder) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
He faces imprisonment for a term of ten to fifteen years or life imprisonment.
Earlier, it was reported that law enforcement officers found the body of a man on the side of a road in the Dnipropetrovsk region with a gunshot wound to the head. The man in question was Oleksandr Plakhotnik, a former vice mayor and local deputy from the "Batkivshchyna" party, who was formerly the CEO of Miskvodokanal and a business partner of the Dubinsky brothers.
