Another 11 children returned from occupation and Russia – Lubinets. PHOTOS
We managed to return 9 children from the temporarily occupied territory of Ukraine, and two more from Russia.
This was announced by the Verkhovna Rada Commissioner for Human Rights Dmytro Lubinets, Censor.NET reports.
"At the request of citizens to the Ombudsman's Office and as part of reintegration measures, we facilitated the return of two more children from the temporarily occupied territory of Ukraine and two more from the territory of the Russian Federation. The return was carried out within the framework of the implementation of the approved action plan of the President of Ukraine Bring Kids Back UA," the statement said.
As noted, the children are aged from 2 to 17 years. While living in TOT, the families lived under constant pressure from the occupation regime because of their pro-Ukrainian position, were subjected to persecution, intimidation and deprivation of basic rights, which posed serious risks to their children.
A pregnant woman with a small child is reportedly among those returned from the occupation. The occupation authorities systematically intimidated the family and denied them medical care due to the lack of Russian documents. After returning to the government-controlled territory of Ukraine, the woman finally received all the medical care she needed. A few days after her return, she gave birth to a baby girl.
An 11-year-old boy whose father was in Russian captivity was also returned. The boy and his mother had been on the TOT all this time. Therefore, they tried to behave very carefully, as they were wary of any attention from the occupying authorities. After her husband's release from captivity, the woman turned to the Ombudsperson's Office with a request to help her leave the TOT. As a result, the family is now in the government-controlled territory of Ukraine and will soon be reunited.
