In an interview for Suspilne, Marharyta said that she started painting a lot at the beginning of the full-scale invasion, when the first news about the deaths of children in Irpin appeared.

"I painted a girl flying like an angel over the houses. The girl is flying over this ugliness of the world. My first perception of the Russians was that they were monsters who came and fought with people," the artist said.
