A group of four people organising the smuggling of men of military age across the state border was exposed in Kyiv.
This was reported by the Kyiv City Prosecutor's Office, Censor.NET reports.
According to the investigation, the cost of the "service" ranged from USD 10 to 15 thousand. The criminals were looking for people willing to leave the territory of Ukraine and provided them with routes to cross the border outside the official checkpoints in Zakarpattia region.
As noted, the men were sent by train to Uzhhorod, where they were met by one of their accomplices. Later, they were temporarily accommodated in a hotel and given instructions on how to proceed.
Law enforcement officers have documented at least four cases of organised illegal departures of conscripts.
The defendants in the case were served a notice of suspicion under Part 3 of Art. 332 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine - illegal trafficking of persons across the state border committed by a group of persons.
The article provides for up to 9 years in prison with confiscation of property.
