Scheme to smuggle foreigners across border under guise of volunteering has been exposed in Kyiv. PHOTOS

In Kyiv, law enforcement officers exposed and dismantled a channel for illegally transporting foreigners across the state border, organised under the guise of volunteer work. Three people were involved in the scheme, who drew up fictitious documents and ensured the legalisation of foreigners for a fee.

This was reported by Censor.NET with reference to the Kyiv Police.

A scheme was set up to bring foreigners into the country via Moldova

The organiser of the illegal scheme was a 31-year-old entrepreneur from the capital, who recruited two accomplices. The suspects set up a scheme for the entry of foreign nationals through the territory of Moldova and their subsequent fictitious employment.

Private companies registered the "clients," and the fake documents produced in this way served as the basis for obtaining visas, crossing the state border, and subsequently obtaining temporary residence permits.

In addition, foreigners were offered legalisation under the guise of volunteer work without actually performing it. The cost of such "services" was almost UAH 100,000, which was paid in stages in cash or by bank transfer.

Law enforcement officers conducted six searches at the places of residence and work of the suspects. Copies of "clients'" passports, identification codes, contracts, seals, electronic media and other material evidence were seized.
