Officers of the Strategic Investigations Department in the Odesa region of the National Police of Ukraine, together with investigators from the Main Directorate of the National Police in the Odesa region, exposed and stopped the unlawful actions of the official.
According to the investigation, the suspect, whilst serving as the head of the administrative department of one of the Regional Territorial Centre of Recruitment and Social Support (TCR and SS), offered a soldier from an assault regiment a transfer to a rear unit, reports Censor.NET.

For UAH 300,000, he promised to "influence" the "necessary" official at the District Territorial Centre of Recruitment and Social Support. The "service" also included the possibility of subsequently having the serviceman declared unfit for service following a military medical commission.
Police detained the schemer immediately after he received the undue benefit. After gathering sufficient evidence, investigators served him with a notice of suspicion.
The court imposed a pre-trial restraint in the form of detention in custody with the option of bail set at UAH 998,400.
The pre-trial investigation is ongoing. He faces up to five years in prison.
