Police officer Yurii Tarasenko was killed in the Kharkiv region while carrying out a combat mission to repel the enemy.
This was reported by Censor.NET, citing the National Police’s communications department.
Combat mission in Kupiansk
As noted, on 14 March in the town of Kupiansk, while personnel of the special purpose police regiment of the Main Directorate of the National Police in Kharkiv region were moving between combat positions, Russian troops launched a massive attack using FPV drones and artillery.
As a result of the enemy attack, contact was lost with Yurii Tarasenko, a police officer of platoon No. 2, company No. 1, battalion No. 2. It later became known that the law enforcement officer had been killed. His body was evacuated on 23 March. The police officer was 37 years old.
He was devoted to his service and to the Ukrainian people
"Yurii Tarasenko had served in the law enforcement agencies since December 2010. He served the Ukrainian people with dedication, conscientiously performed his duties and remained true to his Oath until the very end," the police emphasised.
He is survived by his wife and seven-year-old daughter, who have lost a loving husband and caring father, and by his elderly parents, who have lost their son.
