According to Censor.NET, this was reported by the Specialised Prosecutor’s Office for Defence in the Western Region.
According to the investigation, the organiser of the network was a 30-year-old soldier – a driver-mechanic at one of the region’s military units.
How the scheme worked
The suspect sought out "clients", informed them of ways to leave the country illegally, and provided detailed instructions regarding the route.
According to the plan, men of conscription age were transported to the Chernivtsi region, from where they were to illegally cross the state border towards Moldova.
In addition, the organiser arranged for the production of forged certificates purporting to show that the men had completed military service under contract. This allowed them to avoid checks and pass through checkpoints unhindered.
How much did the ‘services’ cost?
The cost of the illegal smuggling was $3 , 000 per person.
The circumstances of the case and the full circle of those involved are being established.
