State-of-the-art Russian Shypovnik-Aero electronic warfare system in Donetsk: volunteers find proof of Ukraine’s Intelligence Department’s information. PHOTOS
Ukrainian volunteers have found confirmation of information released by Main Intelligence Department of Defense Ministry of Ukraine about a state-of-the-art Shypovnik-Aero electronic warfare system, deployed by Russian terrorist troops in downtown Donetsk.
This is announced by international volunteer community InformNapalm, Censor.NET reports."During identification of soldiers from the 33rd separate motorized rifle brigade in occupied Donetsk, volunteers have found a location where various types of militants' military equipment have been deployed since late 2014.
"It is noteworthy that one unit of equipment hasn't moved in a year, which might speak of its functions. … It is an example proving that Russian military experts often do not change locations of their electronic intelligence equipment or electronic warfare systems, being sure that Ukrainian law enforcers, bound by Minsk accords, pose no threat to them, and that OSCE monitors "will not see" or will not record what they see in their reports," the authors of the article note.
"This material offers suggestions that should be tested "in the field"," authors say.
Below are some satellite imaged sorted by time:
Oct. 5, 2014 - a soccer field near former "operative militarized mountain rescue squad" is still empty.

Oct. 11, 2014 - something covered by a scrim appears on the field, equipment is seen in shadows.

Then, there go images that helped to reveal this place.
An image made by soldier of the 33rd brigade of Russian army Vitalii Tupikin on the rooftop of former "eastern customs office of the State Fiscal Service" in Donetsk on Dec. 12, 2015.
An unidentified antenna has been marked in green on the photo below. An object not seen on the archive satellite images is located below it.

There are more recent images on the same rooftop, although from another side of the building. Pay attention to a new clean box on the left of the image, with wires going to different sides from it.

The indicated facilities are next to each other, some 100 meters. Exhibition center ExpoDonbas, featured in another investigation, is less than 1 km from this place. It is possible that it serves as a command staff of Russian occupation troops in Donetsk.
"Given information of the Main Intelligence Department of Defense Ministry and judging from observations above, we might allege that the Shypovnik-Aero system is located on the soccer field near former "operative militarized mountain rescue squad" in Donetsk. This information should be additionally checked, but this place is perfect for deployment of an electronic warfare system," the investigators note.

"Thus, during monitoring of satellite images and social pages of Russian army soldiers deployed in the occupied Donbas, volunteers have found indirect evidence of presence of another unit of Russia's specialized equipment, which only recently was put in service with the Russian army. Photos or videos from the spot could add to evidence base, but at the moment we hope that OSCE monitors will be able to visit the facility in question and describe it in its reports," volunteers wrote.
