Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy congratulated the marines on Ukrainian Marine Corps Day.
He posted his message on Telegram, reports Censor.NET.
Zelenskyy on the role of the Marines
"The Ukrainian Marine Corps is about dedication, a readiness to defend our own against all odds, to hold our positions and to defeat the occupier. Our soldiers are heroes. On the toughest sections of the front line, through their strength, endurance, and character, they ensure success for Ukraine and give us the confidence that we will prevail," the head of state remarked.
According to him, the marines, together with other units of our Defence Forces, prove every day that Ukrainians will not surrender what is theirs and that the Ukrainian spirit is truly unbreakable. I thank every marine for their resilience and for protecting our people.
"And we must all realise the high price Ukraine is paying for its independence, and the battles in which it is being won. We honour the feat of the fallen heroes. We are proud of every single person who continues the fight today, defends the state, and brings peace closer for Ukraine," the president concluded.
