The enemy is systematically destroying civilian infrastructure in Sloviansk and Kramatorsk in the Donetsk region.
This has been reported by Censor.NET, citing the press centre of the 81st SAB.
Russian strikes on civilian infrastructure
As noted, in recent weeks alone there have been strikes on shops, residential buildings, businesses, educational institutions, a bank and a post office. Civilian vehicles simply parked in courtyards or on the streets have also been hit.
Casualties
Over 190 buildings have been damaged, with dozens injured and fatalities reported.
Since 21 August, both towns have been officially recognised as a zone of active hostilities – a status that merely formalised on paper what residents have been experiencing every day.
"Cities that the enemy is trying to intimidate and destroy. Cities that we are defending," the brigade emphasised.
What led up to this?
- As reported, on the afternoon of 25 August, Russian forces carried out a massive air strike on Kramatorsk in the Donetsk region. Residential infrastructure and apartment blocks in the city were hit.
- At 4 am on 26 August, Russian forces struck Sloviansk with KAB bombs.
