Yevhen Abramchuk, squad commander of the 18th Fire and Rescue Unit of the 2nd Fire and Rescue Brigade of the Main Directorate of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine in the Sumy region, died whilst on duty in the Hlukhiv community in the Sumy region. He was 43 years old.
According to Censor.NET, this information has been reported by the State Emergency Service of Ukraine.
Yevhen Abramchuk devoted almost 20 years of his life to the Rescue Service. He remained on active duty until the very end, conscientiously carrying out his professional duties and helping people.
"He will now be 43 forever… He still had so many plans, dreams and happy moments ahead of him," the statement reads.
Yevhen Abramchuk is survived by his wife and two sons.
Rescuers have expressed their condolences to the family
The Rescue Service noted that this is a heavy and irreparable loss for the entire family of rescuers.
"We offer our sincere condolences to Yevhen’s family, loved ones, friends and colleagues. May our brother rest in peace!" said the deceased’s colleagues.
