A shahed attacked the Khmelnytskyi region

On the afternoon of 5 September 2026, Russian forces attacked the Khmelnytskyi region with strike drones.

Serhii Tiurin, head of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration, announced this on his Telegram channel, according to Censor.NET.

Initial details

"An attack by enemy drones has just come to an end. Air defence forces were deployed," the statement reads.

There is damage

According to preliminary reports, the attack has caused damage to the premises of several businesses in the Khmelnytskyi district.

All the relevant emergency services were dispatched to the scene.

Tiurin promises to provide further details at a later date.

Updated information

It is also reported that a three-storey residential building was damaged as a result of the attack.

It later emerged that four people had been injured in the attack, including one minor.

Three people were admitted to hospital, whilst one person was treated at the scene without being admitted.

According to the latest information, there are currently seven known casualties.

Four of them have been admitted to hospital. One of them is in a serious condition.

Four cars were also damaged

For his part, the mayor of Khmelnytskyi, Oleksandr Symchyshyn, reported that, as a result of the attack, a block of flats had sustained significant damage and destruction.
