Ukrzaliznytsia to return Czech-produced Skoda train into operation, - CEO. PHOTOS
Ukrainian railroad operator Ukrzaliznytsia JSC completes repairing its second Skoda train. The company might employ it at Lviv direction.
State-owned enterprise CEO Wojciech Balczun wrote on Facebook, Censor.NET reports."Keeping such a train out of use is negligence at least and the subject of prosecutors' interest at the most. The repairs of the second Skoda are to be completed. The Czech experts will carry out the necessary inspection and testing this week. The services are to ensure its operational readiness before Nov. 1," the official wrote.

Ukrzaliznytsia is currently studying directions acceptable for Skoda electric trains operation since they have certain constraints. In particular, they require maintenance after travelling every 700 km.
The following routes are being considered: Kyiv-Poltava-Kharkiv, Kyiv -Vinnytsia-Khmelnytskyi-Ternopil-Lviv. The direct connection between Kyiv and Lviv already exists today.
The train is very fast as the passengers spend less than five hours on the road with a minimum number of stops. The Skoda train will be taking its passengers to all the afore-mentioned intermediate destination points on its way to Lviv. They are going to be the daytime 'Intercity' trains under the schedule.
