US shows how artillery shells are being manufactured for Ukraine. VIDEO

Journalists of American newspaper New York Times with permission of Pentagon visited US Department of Defense plants that produce artillery ammunition.

The publication notes that most of the shells produced there are shipped to Ukraine, informs Censor.NЕТ.

Throughout the entire fabrication process, workers check the quality of the blanks. After the explosives are filled, the shells are even put through X-rays to detect any cavities inside them that could negatively affect the combat use of the ammunition. This is one of the final quality checks that artillery munitions undergo.

After that, some of the shells will be shipped to Yuma, Arizona, where they will be fired from howitzers at a test site. If they pass the test, the remaining tens of thousands of shells produced this month will be certified for use.
