Kyiv bids farewell to warrior and poet Maksym Kryvtsov. VIDEO&PHOTOS
A funeral service for poet Maksym Kryvtsov, who died defending Ukraine from Russian aggression, was held in Kyiv.
This was reported by a Censor.NET correspondent.
A memorial service for the repose of the soul was held at St. Michael's Cathedral to honor the memory of the deceased. Then the funeral procession went to Maidan Nezalezhnosti. While the procession was leaving St. Michael's Cathedral, Kryvtsov's poems were played over loudspeakers.
About a thousand people came to pay their last respects to the deceased: relatives, friends, brothers and sisters, as well as those who did not know Maksym Kryvtsov personally.
Maksym Kryvtsov will be buried in his native Rivne. The funeral will take place on Friday, January 12.
Krvvtsov is the author of the book "Virshi z biinytsi" ("Poems from the Battlefield" - ed. note), recognized as one of the best Ukrainian books of 2023 by PEN Ukraine.
He volunteered for the war in 2014. He volunteered for the Right Sector, then fought in the Da Vinci Wolves battalion. Later, he worked at the Center for Rehabilitation and Readaptation of ATO and JFO Participants and at the Veteran Hub. After the full-scale Russian invasion in 2022, he returned to the front. He continued to write poetry and prose. He was working on a novel but did not have time to finish it.
