Strike on "Engels" airfield was carried out by SSU and SOF of AFU drones - General Staff

On the night of 20 March, units of the Special Operations Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the Security Service of Ukraine, in cooperation with other components of the Defence Forces, struck at the "Engels" airfield in the Saratov region of the Russian Federation.
According to Censor.NET, this was reported by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
A fire, explosions and secondary detonation of ammunition were recorded near the airfield.
It is noted that this military facility is used by the occupiers' aviation, in particular, to launch missile strikes on the territory of Ukraine and terrorist attacks against the civilian population.
According to Andrii Kovalenko, head of the National Security and Defence Council's Disinformation Countermeasures Centre, as a result of the strike on the airfield, the Russians lost missiles, including X-101.
The occupiers store most of the missiles used by strategic aviation to strike Ukraine at this airfield.
It is known that this airfield is a key base for Russian strategic aviation.
Tu-95MS, Tu-22M3 and Tu-160 bombers are deployed there, as well as warehouses with FABs, GABs and cruise missiles. It is from here that the aircraft that launch missile strikes against Ukraine take off.
"The Ukrainian Defence Forces have detailed information about the strategic objects of the Russian occupiers, comply with international humanitarian law and take measures to protect civilians and stop the armed aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine," the General Staff said.
As a reminder, at night, local residents of Engels heard powerful explosions.
