A fire broke out at the "Naftan" oil refinery in Navapolatsk, Belarus. The fire engulfed a technological unit involved in diesel fuel processing.

Details of the firefighting operation

According to Censor.NET, preliminary data indicates that the fire was successfully contained, but the extent of the damage is still being assessed. Firefighters and emergency services of the enterprise were working at the scene.

Consequences for Belarusian oil refining

"Naftan" is one of two operating oil refineries in Belarus. Damage to even one facility could seriously affect domestic fuel supplies and exports, complicating the already tense energy situation in Russia's ally.
