Russian forces are infiltrating Pokrovsk with equipment and setting up mortars - media. VIDEO
Russian invaders have been infiltrating Pokrovsk since at least 6 November.
This is reported by the publication UP, according to Censor.NET.
The city is surrounded by drones, and the occupiers are advancing on motorcycles and pick-up trucks and setting up their mortars there.
The "Hosti Kartuzy" unit has released a video showing Russians pushing aside engineering barriers and moving further into the city.
It is noted that the weather is playing into the hands of the invaders. There is thick fog over the city, which complicates reconnaissance by drones. The Russians are also shelling the positions of Ukrainian UAV operators with mortars.
On 10 November, the Russians posted a video online showing a column of motorcycles, cars and pedestrians moving towards Pokrovsk.
The video was filmed on the southern outskirts of the city, near the village of Novopavlivka and the exit to Selidovo.
What do the military say?
"The Russians are already north of the railway tracks (the tracks are approximately in the middle of Pokrovsk) – the hospital, the dachas. The enemy is building on its success. No special forces will be able to restore order because there are so many enemies. Every day, up to 50 bastards are brought in via the main road from Selidovo to Pokrovsk," says one of the defenders.
"What could a dozen infantrymen do in a huge city? Finally, everyone realised that they had lost Pokrovsk and stopped talking nonsense. The Russians have already brought mortars into Pokrovsk and will now use them to destroy the pilots' positions. At the same time, they (the Russians) are trying to jump into Rivne (a village between Pokrovsk and Myrnohrad) and are constantly trying to enter Myrnohrad. They are advancing in columns — although almost all of them are being killed — or in small groups, which is bringing them success," added another.
The situation in Pokrovsk
- Earlier, Commander-in-Chief Oleksandr Syrskyi said that the goal of Russian troops is to surround Pokrovsk and neighbouring cities, cutting off logistics for the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The enemy will try to carry out a "final manoeuvre" to capture the entire Donetsk region
- The Joint Forces Operation reported that Russian occupiers have intensified their efforts to penetrate Pokrovsk with light equipment through the southern outskirts in recent days. Currently, there are more than 300 Russians in the city.
