The meeting took place on the sidelines of the 4th International Summit of Cities and Regions, ‘Partnership. Resilience. Readiness’.

"All our European neighbours are represented: Poland, Slovakia, Hungary, Moldova, Romania and Belarus. We all support the Belarusian people’s desire to rid themselves of Russian interference and know that Russia is currently trying to drag Belarus even further into this war against Ukraine.

And we appreciate every show of support from Belarusians for a free Ukraine, and we know that the day will come when our countries will once again enjoy good-neighbourly relations based on the genuine independence of both Ukraine and Belarus from Moscow," he emphasised.

Zelenskyy noted that Ukraine has never been a threat to Belarus.

"And we are grateful to those Belarusians who stand with Ukraine now, at a time when the fate of our independence and the independence of every nation bordering Russia is being decided," he concluded.
