Lukashenko claims he met with "Zelenskyy’s representatives" in Minsk. VIDEO

Belarusian dictator Alexander Lukashenko claimed that he had allegedly met with representatives of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

He was quoted by Belarusian media, Censor.NET reports.

Details

The statement was made during a meeting with Moscow Oblast Governor Andrey Vorobyov.

"So that you know, representatives of Zelenskyy were recently here, in this very place. I told them directly: ‘Tell your president that if he thinks he can talk to us like this and drag us into the war, he must understand that the nature of the war will change instantly,’" the self-proclaimed "president" said.

According to Lukashenko, the war "will be completely different."

The Belarusian dictator called for "negotiations" and assured that Belarus did not need to "get involved in the war."

"We do not want to fight Ukrainians. Our position is peaceful, but in any situation we will stand with Russia," he added.

Background

  • The day before, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy responded to the "apology" of Belarusian dictator Alexander Lukashenko and gave Minsk one week to remove equipment used by Russians to adjust attacks on Ukraine, otherwise Kyiv would do it itself.
  • Zelenskyy explained that this public ultimatum was the last step after prolonged non-public warnings that the Belarusian side had ignored.
