Logistics lockdown of Russian army: Ukraine launches tender for record procurement of middle-strike drones – Fedorov. VIDEO
Drone Industry
In recent months, Ukraine has significantly increased its middle-strike capabilities and launched a logistics lockdown of the Russian army.
This was reported by Ukrainian Minister of Defense Mykhailo Fedorov, Censor.NET reports.
Number of strikes at the operational depth of the front increased almost tenfold
According to Fedorov, thanks to increased contracting of these drones, Ukrainian forces are systematically destroying Russian logistics, depots, command posts, equipment, and other targets. Over the past six months, the number of strikes at the operational depth of the front has increased almost tenfold. This has made it possible to launch a campaign to isolate Crimea and strengthen Ukraine’s advantage on the battlefield.
Open competitive tender
"Today, we are taking the next step. The Defense Procurement Agency is announcing the first open competitive tender for the procurement of strike UAVs and reconnaissance-strike middle-strike systems. This is the first UAV procurement of such scale to be conducted through an open competitive procedure," the minister said.
He noted that the transition to transparent rules and competitive procurement is one of the key elements of defense procurement reform and Ukraine’s anti-corruption track.
It is noted that all Ukrainian manufacturers whose products meet the specified technical requirements will be able to take part in the tender. For the first time, Ukraine is procuring these types of drones not by specific model names, but according to their tactical and technical characteristics. This creates real competition, makes it possible to involve more participants, select the most effective solutions for the Defense Forces, and ensure the best price for the state.
Tender details
Fedorov added that details on participation in the tender are available on the website of the DOT defense procurement agency. The procedure will take place in a closed environment to ensure the security of tender participants and protect sensitive information.
He stressed that this approach has already proved effective during the competitive procurement of long-range 155-mm ammunition, where savings of more than 16% were achieved.
"Our goal is to move procurement of other categories of unmanned systems to competitive tender procedures this summer: deep-strike, FPV, and other types of drones.
On the instructions of the President, we continue to build a defense procurement system with transparent rules, fair competition, and minimized manual influence in order to scale the most effective solutions for the front faster and strengthen Ukraine’s advantage over the enemy," the minister concluded.
