Ukrainian multi-purpose An-132D aircraft has covered its first ever distance between Sviatoshyne and Antonov airfields.

An-132D was designed at the order of Saudi Arabia. Its carrying capacity is 9.2 tons, length - 24.5 meters, height - 8.8 meters, wingspan - 29.2 meters.

Antonov SE signed a letter of intent to jointly produce 80 An-132 aircraft for Saudi Arabia. Certain number of carriers will be assembled in Ukraine, while Saudi Arabia will create capacity to manufacture components.

The intellectual ownership for the aircraft is divided equally between the two sides. A decision on signing a contract will be made after the delivery of the first plane.

An-132 is the first aircraft in Antonov production line assembled without Russian components. The plane is designed for short and medium-distance flights and is capable to perform a wide range of cargo transportation tasks. It will have a cruise speed of 500 km/h and a maximum cruise altitude of 9,000 meters with a maximum load of 9.2 tons.
