G7 countries have created energy "Ramstein" for Ukraine - Blinken

In order to help Ukraine to restore infrastructure when Russia deliberately destroys energy facilities, the G7 members have practically created a new coordination mechanism - following the example of "Ramstein", only in the energy sector.

This was stated by US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken on Friday in Munster, Germany, following the G7 ministerial meeting, reports Censor.NЕТ with reference to Ukrinform.

"Given the clearly deliberate attempts by Russia, President Putin, to destroy as much of Ukraine's critical infrastructure as possible - in particular, energy grids and facilities necessary for heating homes, so that hospitals cannot function, schools cannot be heated and have no power - we (G7 - Ed.) have determined that together we can do a lot to help Ukrainians," the US Secretary of State emphasized.

He noted that it was not only about restoring the destroyed infrastructure, but also about strengthening its resilience. This, according to the U.S. diplomat, is done in a coordinated manner, taking into account the resources of the G7 countries to respond to these challenges.

Blinken stressed that the G7 countries have actually created a separate mechanism to understand what Ukraine's needs are and what each state can offer on its part.

"It is a bit like the Ramstein process to help Ukraine in its defense needs. So, we are doing the same thing, only in the energy sector," the US Secretary of State noted.
