конкурс,набу

The commission chose 3 winners of the NABU director competition. In the future, the future head of the Bureau should be chosen by the Cabinet of Ministers.

Censor.NET informs about this with reference to the Facebook page of the Commission for holding a competition for the position of Director of NACU.

"Today, March 4, 2023, the commission for conducting the competition for the position of Director of the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine through an open vote identified three candidates who meet the requirements and have the best professional experience, knowledge and qualities to perform the duties of the Director of NABU for submission to the Cabinet Ministers of Ukraine," the message reads.

They became:

  • Serhii Hupiak — head of the 4th investigative department of the Territorial Administration of the State Bureau of Investigation in Khmelnytsky;
  • Kryvonos Semen — head of the State Inspection of Architecture and Urban Planning;
  • Roman Osypchuk is the head of the internal control department of NABU.

The final stage of interviews included interviews on integrity and professional competence. In the future, the future head of the Bureau should be chosen by the Cabinet of Ministers.

Transparency International Ukraine, which monitored this competition, noted that commission members Karen Greenaway and Oleksii Savchuk refused to vote for the election of the trio because, according to them, they do not support all the candidates from this trio. However, Ms. Karen emphasized that she hopes for a reasonable approach of the Cabinet of Ministers to the selection of a worthy head of NACB.

It will be recalled that Artem Sytnyk, the previous director of the National Anti-Corruption Bureau, was appointed to this position on April 16, 2015 by decree of the fifth President of Ukraine, Petro Poroshenko. On April 16, 2022, his term of office expired, and NACB was temporarily headed by his first deputy Gizo Uhlava.

The start of the competition for the head of NACB was blocked until August 2022. In December, the Selection Committee finished accepting documents from candidates — there were 78 of them.
