As a result of a senseless terrorist shelling by snipers on the night of May 22, at 5:26 a.m., the last 750kV Dnipro high-voltage transmission line, from which the temporarily occupied Zaporizhzhia NPP was powered for its own needs, was disconnected.
Since the beginning of the occupation of the Ukrainian station by Ruscist terrorists (March 4, 2022), the ZNPP has been in blackout mode. This is reported by Censor.NET with reference to Energoatom's press center.
As noted, after the loss of external power, which is vitally necessary to ensure the operation of the cooling pumps of the nuclear material of the power units, all diesel generators of the nuclear power plant were switched on automatically, the fuel supply is enough for ten days. The countdown has begun.
"If it is impossible to renew the external power supply of the station during this time, an accident with radiation consequences for the whole world may occur," the message says.
"The continued occupation of the ZNPP by Russia, the rule over it by an illegitimate, untrained racist leadership that bears no responsibility for the nuclear and radiation safety of the facility, constantly worsens the conditions for maintaining the plant on the verge of a nuclear and radiation accident. Russia's nuclear terrorism must stop immediately, and the invaders must leave the territory of the station and its satellite city of Energodar," notes Energoatom.
The ZNPP should immediately return to full control of the legal operator - "Energoatom", with the subsequent bringing of the plant to normal operating mode with the restoration of the facility's nuclear and radiation safety.
"Currently, the actions of the entire international community are urgently needed to remove racist terrorist groups from the territory of the Zaporizhzhia NPP, transfer it under the full control of a competent legitimate operator - the Ukrainian "Energoatom", and restore the conditions for preserving the nuclear, radiation and physical safety of the nuclear facility," they summarized in the company
Earlier, the Russian invaders announced that they switched the Zaporizhzhia NPP to generators due to the shutdown of the 750 kV Dniprovsk transmission line.
