If Trump becomes president of USA, he will push Ukraine to "peace agreement" in interests of Russian Federation - Time

Трамп може схиляти Україну до миру в інтересах РФ

If he wins the US presidential election, Donald Trump is likely to cut military aid to Ukraine and push Kyiv to conclude a "peace deal" that would benefit Russia.

This was reported by Censor.NET with reference to TIME.

As noted, officials in Kyiv have spent months analyzing the possible implications of a Trump victory for their war with Russia. Many fear that his deference to autocrats like Vladimir Putin and his "transactional" approach to foreign policy could spell disaster for Ukraine. But not all of their predictions are "as dire as one might expect".

"The first eight or ten months, that is, the whole of 2025, will be very difficult (if Trump wins - ed.)," a senior Ukrainian official told TIME on condition of anonymity.

According to him, Trump is likely to cut military aid to Ukraine and push Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy to accept a peace deal that will be significantly skewed in favour of Russia.

It is also noted that, like previous US presidents, Trump may also try to reset relations with Vladimir Putin at the beginning of his term.

"But over time, he will see that Putin cannot be trusted," the Ukrainian official said, adding that Trump will eventually realize "that Putin does not care about Trump and his plans. That's when we will start to see some benefits from Trump. He will not want to be played by Putin."

The newspaper writes that in trying to convince Trump and his future Vice President J.D. Vance, Ukrainians are also counting on the support of allies in Europe and the American military-industrial complex, which can make huge profits from the continued production of weapons for the needs of the Armed Forces.

"They can explain to Trump why this is beneficial to many people in America, especially in the 'red' states that support Republicans. It creates jobs and supports the economy," the Ukrainian official added.

Earlier, former British Prime Minister Boris Johnson said that the former head of the White House and current US presidential candidate from the Republican Party, Donald Trump, could end the war on the right terms for Ukraine and the West, as he understands that "Ukraine's defeat would be a huge defeat for America".
