Ukrainian boxer Oleksandr Khyzhniak won gold at the 2024 Olympic Games in the 80 kg weight category.

In the final, Khyzhniak defeated Kazakhstan's Nurbek Oralbay in a 3-2 split decision.

On his way to the final, Oleksandr defeated Hungary's Filip Akilov, overcame Brazil's Wanderlei Pereira in the quarter-finals, and in the semi-finals proved to be stronger than two-time Olympic champion Arlen Lopez from Cuba.

This is the 3rd gold medal for Ukraine at the 2024 Olympic Games.
