Occupiers penetrated our defense line near Chasiv Yar, fierce fighting ongoing - 24th SMB
Russian troops managed to penetrate our defence line near Chasiv Yar in Donetsk region, but we are not talking about losing the city.
This was reported by Ivan Petrychak, a spokesman for the press service of the 24th Separate Mechanised Brigade named after King Danylo, Censor.NET informs citing Interfax-Ukraine.
"Unfortunately, the enemy managed to penetrate our defence line, but we are not talking about a critical failure and the loss of Chasiv Yar. Fierce fighting is ongoing," Petrychak said.
According to him, the situation has remained tense over the past month, and the occupiers have attempted assaults on a daily basis.
"It's sunny during the day, raining at night and in the evening, so there was a lot of fog, and the occupiers used the weather change to their advantage to cross the canal. Now it is blocked, localisation work is underway, and all the brigade's forces are now focused on destroying the occupier in the square where it is currently blocked," Petrychak said.

He also said that the situation at the front in the area of responsibility of the 24th SMB remains critically difficult, the occupiers are outnumbered and are trying to break through the Ukrainian defence line, also shelling Chasiv Yar with artillery, rockets, and air bombardment, but the defence of the city is continuing.
"The situation is under control," Petrychak said.
Earlier, Censor.NET reported that the enemy was deploying new troops to the frontline and trying to break through the Ukrainian defence in the Chasiv Yar area.
