From Monday, October 28, language volunteers will work in Ivano-Frankivsk.

On October 24, more than 40 participants of various ages gathered at the first meeting.
Mayor Marcinkiv said that the language volunteers plan to act within the limits of the law, cooperating with the municipal inspection. If necessary, they will contact law enforcement agencies to address issues related to the use of the Russian language, in particular on labels and in household services.
"If there are significant abuses, appropriate administrative responses are foreseen," said the head of the city.
According to Marcinkiv, the main goal of the language inspectors will not be punitive, but educational activities aimed at popularizing the Ukrainian language among the population.
Financing of this initiative from the budget is not foreseen.
It was previously reported that due to the increase in the use of the Russian language, language inspectors will work in Ivano-Frankivsk.
