Pace of advance of Russian ground forces towards Pokrovsk has slowed significantly since early October - British intelligence

Russian ground troops have almost certainly advanced to the mining town of Selydove, about 13 kilometers southeast of the major logistics center of Pokrovsk.
According to Censor.NET, this is stated in an intelligence report by the UK Ministry of Defense.
According to the report, the fighting is likely to continue in the city center.
"Selydove is the last significant urban area covering the southern flank of Pokrovsk, as well as the E50 highway that connects Selydove to Pokrovsk," the intelligence report says.
British intelligence also notes that since the beginning of October 2024, the pace of advance of Russian ground forces toward Pokrovsk has slowed significantly, while they remain about 7 km from the city.
"Russian ground forces have recently deployed resources to the southern part of the axis, targeting Selydove and partially encircling the town. The Russian Federation is likely to use the E50 highway as a secondary route to advance to Pokrovsk if Selydove is captured," the British Ministry of Defense added.
