Georgian President Zurabishvili does not recognize results of parliamentary elections: we have witnessed Russian special operation

Зурабішвілі не визнала результати парламентських виборів і закликала виходити на мітинг

On Sunday evening, 27 October, Georgian President Salome Zurabishvili refused to recognise the results of the parliamentary elections, calling them totally falsified.

The statement by the President of Georgia is cited by "Echo of the Caucasus" (a project of Radio Liberty), Censor.NET reports.

"It was a total falsification and confiscation of our votes. All the methods we have seen in different countries were used. In addition, today's technologies for whitewashing fraud were used. This has never happened before. We have witnessed and become victims of a Russian special operation, a hybrid war that was waged against our people, against our country," Zurabishvili said.

She called the parliamentary elections "Russian elections" and accused the authorities of depriving citizens of their constitutional rights.

The politician stated that she did not recognise the results presented by the Central Election Commission.

"I do not recognise these elections. These elections cannot be recognised. This is the same as recognising Russia's entry here, the subordination of Georgia to Russia. I did not come to the country for this. Our ancestors did not live for this, and we will not accept it. No one can take away Georgia's European future," Zurabishvili said.

Finally, the Georgian President called on people to "fight for their vote" and come to Rustaveli Square on Monday, 28 October at 07:00 p.m. to announce to the world that "we do not recognise these elections".

As a reminder, Georgian opposition political forces have stated that they do not recognise the results of the parliamentary elections, which were "stolen" by the "Georgian Dream", and called for protests.

International observers said that the parliamentary elections in Georgia were held with significant violations.
