Zelenskyy comments on Trump’s "quick steps" toward peace in Ukraine: Russia must pay for aggression

Ukraine does not oppose the quick steps proposed by US presidential candidate Donald Trump to end the war in Ukraine. But Russia must pay for its aggression.

According to Censor.NET, Zelenskyy said this in an interview with media representatives from Northern Europe.

What Zelenskyy said about Trump's "quick steps"

The President of Ukraine commented on the "quick peaceful steps" that Trump plans to take if he wins the presidential election.

"I am not sure that the policy will change radically. I mean, even if there are people (referring to Trump - ed.) who win and who see some deals, quick deals, quick steps, etc., we are also on the side of a quick peaceful solution. But we are not the only ones who have to pay for it," Zelenskyy said.

He reminded that the aggressor is not Ukraine, but Russia, and it must pay for it.

According to the head of state, he will be happy if Kyiv and Washington have a common philosophy and a common view.

"If not, I just want to remind you that Europe is big, much bigger than Russia. I mean in terms of economy, weapons, military segment, it is very strong. So the plan is not to lose with less support from the United States or if the support decreases. Therefore, of course, we are counting on ourselves, on unity in Europe, on the public opinion of the American people," Zelenskyy said.

As a reminder, former U.S. President Donald Trump said he would try to end the war in Ukraine as president-elect.
