Shadow fleet brought Kremlin more money than Ukraine received aid from partners - Zelenskyy
Every month Russia earns 10-12 billion dollars from the shadow fleet. This business has brought more money to the aggressor country than all the assistance from its partners to Ukraine during the war.
This was stated by President Volodymyr Zelenskyy in an interview with the media of Northern Europe, Censor.NET reports .
"We believe that Russia earns from 10 to 12 billion dollars a month from the shadow fleet. If we calculate all the support that Ukraine received during the war from all partners, you will see that their fleet brought them (Russia - ed.) more money, because sanctions work, but not 100%," the head of state said.
Zelenskyy noted that the fight against Russia's shadow fleet requires a decision not only from the Nordic countries, but from the entire European Union.
"Some of the partners have already raised this issue during EU sessions and EU meetings. Their goal is to stop their fleet today, to stop it, by the way, in the northern territorial waters, and this is really difficult. We need a decision not only from the Nordic countries, but also from the entire EU," the President said.
As a reminder, the UK has recently imposed sanctions against the Rusgazdobycha group and 22 Russian tankers, 18 of which are oil tankers and four more are liquefied natural gas tankers.
