Writer and historian Yurii Kaniuk died in war
A soldier, writer, historian and theologian Yurii Kaniuk was killed in the Toretsk direction while performing a combat mission.
According to Censor.NET, the Ministry of Culture and Strategic Communications reported this on Facebook.
Yurii Kanyuk was a soldier, a platoon operator of anti-tank missile systems. He died on October 21 in Toretsk, Donetsk region, at the age of 30.
Yurii was from the town of Sheptytskyi in the Lviv region. He lived in Lviv, taught history and was a writer.
His works include the book "Letter of the Starry Void", which was published in 2018. According to the Ministry, he continued to write even on the front line, in between battles.
