A popular American blogger known for his electoral sympathies for Donald Trump has admitted that Russian propagandist Simeon Boikov transferred $100 to his account for publishing a fake video in which Haitian immigrants allegedly vote in the US presidential election.

This was reported by CNN, Censor.NET informs with reference to "UP".

According to the man, this payment was one of several he received from a "registered Russian agent" for publication on social media before the election.

The pro-Trump influencer writes on platform X and has an account @AlphaFox78. He is an American who lives in Massachusetts. In his fake video, a Haitian immigrant claims that he will vote at least twice in the state of Georgia for Vice President Kamala Harris.

The Secretary of State of Georgia denied this recording. He said that everything in the video was faked - it was made by Russian influencer actors.

The blogger said that he was paid $100 by Russian propagandist podcaster Simeon Boikov, known online as the Aussie Cossack. A person with knowledge of the situation confirmed to CNN that several payments were sent from Boikov to the blogger in Massachusetts.

Documents reviewed by CNN show that Boikov is a registered foreign agent of Russia in Australia, where he works for Russian state media, publishing online in English and Russian.

Boikov is known to have recently been granted Russian citizenship and is seeking asylum at the Russian consulate in Sydney. He has a history of publishing pro-Kremlin disinformation. An investigation by CNN found that Boikov played a role in Russian disinformation campaigns, including those aimed at the 2024 US presidential election.

US and European intelligence sources told CNN that the Russian disinformation network produces staged propaganda videos that are later promoted by US influencers on social media.
