What is known about the Maidan activist Mykola Pasichnyk

Mykola Pasichnyk was detained for allegedly 'organising mass disorder' on January 22, 2014. On January 25, he was arrested for 2 months, and a few days later, the measure of restraint was changed to house arrest. The investigation into the case was later completed. All the materials were transferred to the Obolonskyi Court of Kyiv.

The Anti-Corruption Action Centre previously reported that the Obolonskyi District Court "failed to start considering the charges against law enforcement officers who falsified the Pasichnyk case for a year. The court spent several months considering the recusal of the judge in the case, and the hearings were scheduled once a month.

The Pasichnyk lived in Ladyzhyn, Vinnytsia region. He suffered from the actions of security forces at the age of 72.

On 26 March 2020, Mykola Pasichnyk died at the age of 78.

A photo of him being led around Kyiv by security forces with a bloody head during the Revolution of Dignity was spread by Ukrainian and foreign media, which showed the events of those days.
