Pokrovsk is 40% without electricity, water and heating - CMA
The Pokrovsk community continues to be under daily Russian shelling. The occupiers are shelling residential areas of Pokrovsk and attacking cars with civilians. There is no water or heating in the city, and there are problems with gas and electricity supply.
This was stated by the head of the Pokrovsk CMA Serhii Dobriak, Censor.NET reports.
According to the official, the security situation in the community is deteriorating every day.
"Recently, a family came under attack by a UAV. Their son was killed. They were in their car, which was hit by a drone. There is a hunt for people, so it is extremely dangerous to stay in the community," said Dobriak.
According to him, 11.5 thousand local residents remain in Pokrovsk, including 49 minors.
The head of the СMA notes that the pace of evacuation is slowing down. Previously, up to 1,000 people left per day, but now it is about 10, says Dobryak.
"As of today, Pokrovsk is living without centralized water supply, in some places without gas and 40% without electricity. The area of the Dynamo plant, the town of Rodynske and 4 villages where it is technically impossible to restore power supply are completely de-energized," said the official.
He added that there will be no heating season in the city this winter. Therefore, the community leadership decided to operate 6 heating stations.
In conclusion, Dobriak called on the residents of Pokrovsk who are currently in the city to evacuate to safer places.
"It will be very difficult to survive the winter without vital services, so we urge our people, who are mostly elderly, to spend the winter in safer regions with electricity, heating and water. We will set up heating stations in Pokrovsk for those who stay. They will operate in sub-zero temperatures in places where there is no electricity supply. However, it is not a good idea to gather people in one place, given the security situation. The only sure way to save yourself and your loved ones is to evacuate," the official emphasized.
Earlier it was reported that due to the difficult security situation in Pokrovsk and Rodynske, Donetsk region, Oschadbank ATMs are shutting down.
