109 combat engagements took place in frontline, enemy is exerting most pressure in Kurakhove and Pokrovsk directions - General Staff
As of 16:00 on November 15, 109 combat engagements took place in the frontline since the beginning of the day. Most of the fighting was recorded in the Kurakhove and Pokrovsk directions.
This is stated in the report of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Censor.NET reports.
Enemy shelling
Today, communities in Sumy, Chernihiv and Kharkiv regions suffered from enemy artillery and mortar fire, including Zhuravka, Leonivka, Hrabovske, Pokrovka, Volfyne, Leonivka, Tymofiivka and Ryzhivka.
Fighting in the Kharkiv region
In the Kharkiv direction, the enemy is trying to put pressure on the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the direction of Vysoka Yaruha, where the battle is currently ongoing, and the enemy stormed the positions of our units near Vovchansk, where three attacks are ongoing.
In the Kupiansk direction, the enemy stormed the positions of the Defense Forces five times near Kolisnykivka, Kopanky and Nadiia. Four firefights are still ongoing. Ukrainian soldiers continue to hold the line.
Hostilities in Donbas
With the support of bomber aircraft in the Lyman direction, the invading army launched nine attacks on Ukrainian positions near Novoiehorivka, Terny and Torske. The fighting continues. The invader dropped GABs on Yampolivka, Terny, Lyman and Torske.
In the Siversk direction, the Defense Forces repelled an attack by Russian invaders near Verkhnokamianske. Siversk and Riznykivka came under enemy air strikes.
In the Toretsk direction, eight hostile attacks took place in the area of Toretsk and Shcherbynivka. Ukrainian troops have already repelled six of them, the fighting continues, and the enemy is actively using bombardment aviation against Toretsk.
In the Pokrovsk direction, since the beginning of the day, the occupiers have made 23 attempts to push our defenders from their positions in the areas of Myroliubivka, Promin, Lysivka, Petrivka and Pustynka. The defense forces are resisting the onslaught and repelled 17 enemy attacks, six combat engagements are still ongoing.
In the Kurakhove direction, the invaders attacked 26 times near Berestky, Novoselydivka, Voznesenka, Novodmytrivka, Maksymilianivka, Dalne and Antonivka. Ten attempts of the occupiers to advance have already been repelled. The enemy also launched an air strike on Kurakhove, dropping two aerial bombs.
In the Vremivka direction, four firefights are taking place near Trudove, Makarivka, Rivne and Novodarivka. Five enemy GABs flew over Velyka Novosilka during the day.
Hostilities in the south
In the Orikhiv direction, the occupation forces are shelling the territory controlled by the Ukrainian government, targeting civilian infrastructure and populated areas.
The enemy attempted to storm our defenders five times in the Prydniprovske direction.
Combat operations in the Kursk region
The operation in the Kursk region continues. Enemy aircraft and artillery continue to strike at Ukrainian territory. Ukrainian soldiers have repelled ten attacks by the enemy troops today, and there are currently clashes in eleven locations.
The General Staff added that despite the difficult situation, the Ukrainian Defense Forces are making efforts to disrupt the Russian aggressor's offensive plans and destroy its personnel and equipment.
