Forced evacuation zone to be expanded in Donetsk region - RMA

Local authorities are considering expanding the forced evacuation zone in the Donetsk region.
This was announced at an online briefing by Serhiy Honcharov, head of the department for planning civil protection measures, emergency response and training in the field of civil protection of the Donetsk Regional Military Administration, Censor.NET reports citing Ukrinform.
"There are 105 children in eight settlements where the forced evacuation of children with their families is still ongoing. Most of them are in the towns of Pokrovsk and Rodynske, where there are 42 children and 45 children, respectively," Honcharov said.
According to him, there are about 180 settlements in the region where the forced evacuation of children with their families was announced, but in all other settlements the children have already been taken out. This means that eight more settlements remain.
He added that the area of forced evacuation in the Donetsk region will be expanded and the issue of organizing a new stage of compulsory evacuation of families with children in the region is already being considered at the level of the RMA.
"We are considering 14 more settlements of the Pokrovsk city territorial community. In these settlements, there are a total of 167 children in 121 families. Due to the deterioration of the situation in the south of the region, which is under the control of the Ukrainian authorities, we are considering the forced evacuation of children with their families from seven settlements of the Komarska rural territorial community, where there are 35 families with 50 underage children," explained Honcharov.
Thus, there are now 8 settlements in the Donetsk region where forced evacuation has been announced, and 14 more settlements in the Pokrovsk community and 7 in the Komarske rural territorial community are being considered.
