We are introducing one-time allowance for children in amount of UAH 6,500 for certain categories of people to get through winter period - Shmyhal
The government has taken the first steps to implement a comprehensive Winter Support package for Ukrainian families.
This was announced today at a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers by Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal, Censor.NET reports.
According to him, the government continues to add new programs and initiatives.
"One of the priority areas is the protection of Ukrainian children, who should receive the safest, most comfortable and favorable conditions for life, education and development. The children's component of the Winter Support includes a number of items.
Among them is the Warm Winter program, a one-time financial assistance for children to help them through the winter. In December, every low-income family and IDP families with children or adults with disabilities of the first group will receive UAH 6,500 for each child. These funds will be used to buy warm clothes, shoes and other things needed in winter," noted Shmyhal.
He also noted that today the government is adopting a resolution to launch the program.
