EU ambassadors to discuss 15th package of sanctions against Russia on November 27 - Reuters

EU ambassadors will discuss the 15th package of sanctions against Russia on November 27,

On Wednesday, November 27, European Union ambassadors will discuss the 15th package of sanctions in response to Russia's invasion of Ukraine in 2022, in particular against the Russian "shadow fleet" and Chinese companies involved in the production of drones for Moscow.

This was reported by Reuters with reference to EU diplomats, Censor.NET reports.

According to the diplomats, the proposals include the addition of 29 legal entities and 54 individuals to the sanctions list.

For the first time, companies from China are expected to be on the list in response to information about their support for military production in Russia.

The EU ambassadors will also discuss new measures to combat Russia's "shadow fleet", which circumvents the price ceiling for oil transported by sea: the inclusion of 48 tankers on the blacklist.

The upcoming sanctions package, according to Reuters, will also tighten restrictions on Russian liquefied natural gas and expand the application of the No Russia clause, which will oblige EU subsidiaries in third countries to ban the re-export of certain goods to Russia.

The EU also wants to put pressure on financial institutions that help Russia circumvent Western restrictions, in line with a move by the United States earlier this year, the agency reports.

Approval of the sanctions requires the consent of all 27 EU members. It is not yet known when it might be finalized.
