Zelenskyy explains why he does not ask to send allied troops to Ukraine: if I raise this issue, half of partners will stop supporting him

Zelensky on involvement of foreign troops

If the issue of deploying partner troops to the territory of Ukraine is raised, half of the allies will stop supporting our country.

This was stated by President Volodymyr Zelenskyy during a briefing following a meeting with the President of the European Council Antonio Costa, Ukrinform reports, Censor.NET reports.

"We will never ask for troops to enter our territory. I have repeatedly answered whether we want it. Yes, of course, we would be happy (with such help - ed.) against a Russian invasion. Because he (Putin - ed.) is allied with North Korea and Iran. And we are at war on our own. Yes, with the help of our partners, but we are fighting on our own.... And if I raise this issue with the EU, with NATO: "Please, we need your troops"... If I raise this issue, half of our allies will immediately stop supporting us. That's why I can't take any risks," the head of state explained.

At the same time, he added that Ukraine cannot be against any support from its partners.

As a reminder, High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Kaja Kallas, who is visiting Ukraine on December 1, believes that the appearance of foreign troops in Ukraine should not be ruled out.

Recently, the French newspaper Le Monde cited sources as saying that Europe is once again discussing the possibility of sending Western troops to Ukraine.
