Denmark increases defense funding to support Ukraine and, together with France, will supply Caesar self-propelled howitzers

Denmark will allocate additional funds for the purchase of military equipment in the country's defense industry. In particular, more resources will be allocated to the Industrial Fund, which was created to purchase new defense equipment for Ukraine with the involvement of the Danish defense industry.
This is reported by Radio Liberty with reference to the Ministry of Defense of Denmark, Censor.NET informs.
It is noted that the Danish government held consultations with the Foreign Policy Committee on the transfer of military equipment to Ukraine.
"Since the beginning of the war, Denmark has focused on the most urgent Ukrainian needs. The defense industry has shown that it can deliver what Ukraine needs. That is why the government will increase funding for the industry so that the last contracts can be signed this year," said Defense Minister Troels Lund Poulsen.
The additional funds will be added to about 2.6 billion Danish kroner (more than $368 million) that the government has already allocated to the defense industry. The government has not disclosed the exact amount of additional investment.
Danish Foreign Minister Lars Løkke Rasmussen emphasized the importance of supporting Ukraine as much as possible, as "the war is at a critical stage."
"Europe needs to step up, and with today's donation package we are fulfilling Ukraine's specific requests on behalf of Denmark, demonstrating once again that Denmark is at the forefront of Ukraine's fight for freedom," the minister said.
The Ministry of Defense also added that Denmark, together with France, continues to supply Ukraine with Caesar caesar self-propelled howitzers. They are expected to start arriving in Ukraine in 2025.
