55% of Poles support quick end to war in Ukraine, even at cost of territorial concessions to Russia

For the first time, the opinion that Ukraine should seek a peace agreement with Russia, even if it has to give up part of its territory, prevails in Polish society.
This is evidenced by the latest poll by the Polish Center for Public Opinion Research (CBOS), Censor.NET reports citing Polish Radio.
It is noted that for the first time since the beginning of Russia's full-scale war against Ukraine, the opinion prevails in Polish society that Kyiv should first of all strive to end the conflict and conclude peace, even if Ukraine has to give up part of its territory or independence.
This opinion is now shared by 55% of respondents (compared to 39% in September of this year and 26% in April 2022).
At the same time, only 31% of Polish respondents now believe that Ukraine should continue to fight without any concessions to Russia (in September 2024, the number was 46%, in April 2022 - 59%).
The CBOS noted that at different stages of the full-scale war, Poles have always been convinced that Ukrainians (with the support of the West) should continue the fight and not make any concessions to Russia.
However, as noted in the study, this percentage has been steadily declining since the beginning of the second year of the full-scale war in Ukraine, and over the past three months it has fallen by another ten percentage points.
"Peace negotiations" between Ukraine and Russia are more often supported by Poles in the age group of 18-24, residents of the smallest cities, less educated, poorly assessing their financial situation, more often professing religion and holding right-wing views, CBOS adds.
