Scholz to attend meetings with Zelenskyy in Brussels to discuss support for Ukraine
German Chancellor Olaf Scholz will join a meeting of EU and NATO politicians with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy. The meeting will take place in Brussels on the evening of December 18.
This was stated during a briefing by Deputy Federal Government Spokesman Wolfgang Büchner,Ukrinform reports, Censor.NET reports .
According to the spokesman, Scholz will take part in an informal meeting of the heads of individual EU states and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy at the invitation of the NATO Secretary General.
"During the meeting, we will discuss support for Ukraine," Buchner said.
However, he did not specify the specific points of the expected conversation.
In addition, the spokesperson recalled Scholz's words that now is not the time to speculate about the possibility of German soldiers participating in a peacekeeping mission in Ukraine if a ceasefire is reached.
He also recalled Berlan's position that nothing about Ukraine can be decided without Ukraine.
