In Volyn, TCR workers take man on stretcher out of hospital and conscript him forcibly. Lubinets appealed to State Bureau of Investigation and prosecutor’s office. VIDEO

The Ukrainian Parliament Commissioner for Human Rights, Dmytro Lubinets, received an appeal from a woman from Volyn region who complained about employees of the Kovel City TCR and SS. They inflicted bodily harm on her husband, conscripted him forcibly out of the hospital and took him to the military commissariat.

The Ombudsman announced this in his Telegram channel, Censor.NET reports.

What is known about the incident?

The victim's wife told Lubinets that representatives of the Kovel city TCR inflicted bodily harm on her husband, after which he was taken to hospital. And then he was forcibly taken directly from the hospital to the Lutsk City TCR and SS.

According to Lubinets, his representative immediately went to the regional TCR to clarify the circumstances. However, the soldiers did not comply with the representative's demands and did not allow him to communicate with the detainee.

"Even after the arrival of the police, who were called by my Representative, the employees of the Volyn Regional TCR and SS and Lutsk City TCR and SS did not provide an opportunity to talk to the detained man, but informed that he had been taken to a military unit," the Ombudsman says.

Ombudsman appeals to SBI and prosecutor's office

Lubinets stressed that the actions of employees of the Volyn Regional and Lutsk City TRCs against his representative were contrary to the law. They can be classified under Part 2 of Article 344 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine - interference in the activities of a public official.

Therefore, the Ombudsman reported this fact to the Volyn Regional Prosecutor's Office and sent a statement to the State Bureau of Investigation.

"When it comes to human rights, there can be no obstacles for the officials authorized to uphold them! There will be appropriate responsibility for any obstruction! I will not allow human rights to be disregarded in a state governed by the rule of law," he added.
