Metsola: We have to increase our support. Only strong Ukraine can speak from position of strength
President of the European Parliament Roberta Metsola called for increased support for Ukraine, as only a strong Ukraine can speak from a position of strength.
According to Censor.NET, citing Ukrinform, President of the European Parliament Roberta Metsola said this during a press conference following a meeting with European leaders.
"We are approaching the third anniversary of the war, we are going through the fourth winter, and Ukrainians have several tough months ahead. We must increase our support. This means agreeing to further sanctions against Putin and his allies, as well as to provide unwavering financial, humanitarian and military assistance to Ukraine. Finally, only a strong Ukraine can speak from a position of strength," Metsola said.
In addition, she emphasized that the principle of "nothing about Ukraine without Ukraine" must be respected.
"As we have always said with Volodymyr Zelenskyy, in particular when he spoke in the European Parliament, we must find a way to real peace, with a guiding principle that must be respected under any circumstances and at any cost: nothing about Ukraine without Ukraine," Metsola added.
