Ukrainian Armed Forces try to prevent encirclement near Makarivka in Donetsk region - Southern Defence Forces
The Ukrainian Defence Forces are trying to prevent the encirclement of the Ukrainian Armed Forces near the settlement of Makarivka near Velyka Novosilka in Donetsk region.
This was stated by the spokesperson for the Southern Defence Forces Vladyslav Voloshyn, Censor.NET reports citing Radio Liberty.
"Currently, the Ukrainian defence forces are taking stabilisation measures, trying to restore our positions, trying to prevent our forces from being surrounded, so active defence is underway, a defensive operation is underway. Its consequences, its results will be known later... We are conducting a stabilisation operation there, trying to prevent our troops from being surrounded or semi-encircled, so that the front line, the line of contact, is such that we can reach every unit, every formation... to communicate with them, to have logistical routes with them. The situation is quite difficult, but not hopeless. Our guys are holding on, trying to stop the enemy in this area," he said.
Earlier, DeepState reported that Russian troops continue to cut off the Vremivskyi ledge in Donetsk region, which threatens to encircle Ukrainian defenders in the area of Velyka Novosilka.
Subsequently, the OSGT "Khortytsia" stated that the information about the the encirclement of the Ukrainian Defence Forces in Makarivka in the Vremivskyi direction, which was spread by the media, was not true.
