Poltava resident sentenced to 3 years in prison for evading mobilisation

In Poltava region, a man was sentenced to three years in prison for evading mobilisation.
This is stated in the verdict of the Pyriatyn District Court, Censor.NET reports, citing the Poltava Regional TCR and SS.
Case materials
According to the case file, the accused arrived at the TCR on 15 May 2024 on call to obtain a temporary certificate of a person liable for military service. On the spot, the man was given a referral to the MMC, which the next day found him fit for military service during general mobilisation.
"On the same day, 16 May, he was handed a military summons with a requirement to come to the TCR on 18 May at 05:30 to be sent to a military unit. In addition, the man was warned of liability in case of evasion.
However, he did not appear at the appointed time and ignored the call without good reason, thus directly evading conscription for military service during mobilisation in a special period," the TCR said.
Verdict
During the court hearing, the accused fully admitted his guilt. The Pyriatyn District Court of Poltava Region found the man guilty of evading military service during mobilisation, which is a violation of Article 336 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, and sentenced him to three years' imprisonment. The term of the sentence is counted from the moment of detention.
